Paolina Sambuca

The name, which has nothing to do with the plant of Elder (Sambuco in Italian), was given to an anise-based liqueur, created in Civitavecchia, near Rome, over 130 years ago.Sambuca Paolina can be served on ice, with one or two coffee seeds as ornament. Sambuca Paolina is used as a coffee-corrector in various regions of Italy. The distinctive taste of the Sambuca Paolina combines perfectly with the fragrance of the coffee.
A new trendy way of tasting Sambuca Paolina consists in serving it in a small glass, setting Sambuca Paolina on fire and covering the glass with the palm of the hand to put out the flame, experiencing its taste in one shot.
Paolina Sambuca has an alcoholic strength of 38% vol.
